The story of the knife "Le terril" was born between a carpentry which makes presentation boxes for high-end knives and the mining history of the region. The managers of the company, creators of this knife, wanted to create a knife that recalls:
1.The shape of the slag heap by the general profile of the blade and the handle (trapezoid shape)
2.The creation of the slag heap by the incrustation of finely ground grains of coal in the resin constituting the handle.
This folding pocket knife (closing in the vocabulary of cutlers) is presented in a solid oak box. The bottom of this box allows you to make a display where a piece of coal recalls the material of the handle and the history of the knife is engraved on it.The family history of the creators of the knife is rich in mining stories with a father and a grandfather respectively, minor pit 9 north in Harnes and pit 6 bis in Hénin-Liétard for one of the creators and the other coal traders in Lallaing.
