- Object
These General Terms and Conditions form an integral part of the contract between the buyer and the seller and govern the contractual relations as well as the conditions applicable to any purchase through the CHARLES CANON site. The acquisition of a product via the website implies unreserved acceptance of these General Terms and Conditions, which the buyer has read prior to ordering.
The seller reserves the right to modify these General Terms and Conditions under any pretext whatsoever. In any case, these General Terms and Conditions apply on the date of order by the buyer.
- Products (excluding knives)
The products offered on the site are within the limits of available stocks. The buyer undertakes that the product purchased on the site is unrelated to his professional activity and that its use will be in a strictly personal context.
The illustrations or photos presenting the products are as faithful as possible but have no contractual value.
- Knives
The sale of knives is prohibited to minors. The sales process includes a stage where the buyer formally commits to being an adult.

- Price
For products shipped in mainland France and the European Union, the prices of our products are indicated in euros, all taxes included (VAT and other taxes applicable on the day of the order), unless otherwise indicated and excluding processing and shipping costs. shipping.
For products shipped outside the European Union and DOM/TOM, the price is calculated excluding taxes. The buyer is responsible for paying all import taxes, fees and duties. He is also responsible for various declarations to the competent authorities.
All orders regardless of their origins are payable in euros. The seller reserves the right to modify its prices at any time, it being understood that the price on the day of the order will be the only one applicable to the buyer.
The products remain the property of the seller until full payment of the price, fees and taxes included.
The transfer of risk (loss or damage) from the seller to the buyer takes effect when the product is physically transferred to the buyer
- Order
The conclusion of the contract and the contractual information are made in French
The ordering process and the different stages on the CHARLES CANON website are as follows:
Creation of the customer account: This first phase allows you to retrieve the information necessary for taking the order and shipping the product. The buyer's address is verified when activating the customer account by email
The product presentation page appears after clicking on its representative image. The product price is indicated in euros all taxes included (VAT and other taxes applicable on the day of the order) excluding processing and shipping costs. The buyer fills their basket with the chosen item(s).
Before confirming his order, the buyer can check its contents, make any modifications or cancel this potential order. After verification, the buyer confirms his order. This confirmation results in the formation of the contract. Depending on the destination, shipping costs are calculated following a Chronopost type home delivery, the total price of the order is clearly indicated at the "Total basket amount" level.
The seller reserves the right to refuse this order for any reason it deems legitimate.
- Validation of your order
Any order on the CHARLES CANON website assumes adherence to these General Terms and Conditions without exception or reservation.
All the data provided and the recorded confirmation will constitute proof of the transaction. The order confirmation will constitute signature and acceptance of the operations carried out.
- Payment
The fact of validating the order implies the obligation for the buyer to pay the indicated price.
Payment for purchases is made via the buyer's Paypal account or by credit card (via Paypal or by directly entering the credit card number, the expiry date and the security code located on the back of the card
The card is only debited when the order is shipped. In the event of split deliveries, only the products shipped are debited.
- Withdrawal
In accordance with the provisions of the Consumer Code, the buyer has a period of fourteen (14) days from receipt of the products to exercise his right of withdrawal without having to justify a reason or pay a penalty.
Returns must be made in their original condition and complete (packaging, accessories, instructions) to the address of the seller's headquarters.
Any damage suffered by the product may frustrate the right of withdrawal.
The price of the product purchased as well as shipping costs will be reimbursed to the buyer by the seller within fourteen (14) days. The knife must be returned by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt. Return costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
Engraved products cannot be returned or refunded.
- Delivery
The products are delivered to the delivery address indicated during the ordering process. Products will be shipped within three (7) calendar days after order confirmation. The delivery time will be in accordance with that indicated in the General Conditions of Chronopost or Mondial Relay. For information purposes, the Chronopost delivery time is d+1 from the shipping date, that of Mondial Relay is d+3 for mainland France.
The transfer of risks occurs when the buyer takes physical possession of the package. The buyer should inform the carrier of any reservations regarding the delivered product.
In the event of a shipping delay, an email will be sent to you to inform you of any possible consequences on the delivery time.
In accordance with legal provisions and in the event of late delivery (time between order and receipt greater than 14 days), the buyer has the possibility of canceling his order under the conditions and terms defined by the Consumer Code. If in the meantime the buyer receives the product, he can return it, the seller will then reimburse the product, shipping costs and rerouting costs.
Chronopost cannot be held responsible for late delivery due exclusively to unavailability of the buyer after several appointment proposals. In the event of repeated unavailability of the buyer, the package is deposited at the nearest post office following notice.
- Warranty applicable to knives
Our knives are guaranteed for life to the first owner. This warranty covers the replacement of any defective parts under normal use of the product. A knife must, in particular, be used as such. A blade damaged or broken when using the knife as a tool will not be replaced under warranty.
In the event of normal wear, the knife can, wherever possible, be returned to its original condition. The blade will be sharpened, the mechanism greased and defective parts replaced.
In all cases the knife must be returned to us by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt to the seller's address. Return costs will be reimbursed to the buyer based on the Chronopost price.
The provisions of this article do not prevent the buyer from benefiting from the right of withdrawal provided for in article 6.
- Warranty applicable to products (excluding knives)
All our products benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity and the guarantee against hidden defects, provided for by the articles of the Civil Code, for a period of 2 years.
In the event of non-conformity of a product sold, the products must be returned by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt to the seller's address. The buyer must return the item in the condition in which he received it (All elements: Accessories, packaging, instructions, etc.). The seller ensures reimbursement or replacement of the defective product, return costs will be reimbursed to the buyer on the basis of the Chronopost price.
The provisions of this article do not prevent the buyer from benefiting from the right of withdrawal provided for in article 6.
- Responsibility
The products offered comply with current French legislation. The seller cannot be held liable in the event of non-compliance with the legislation of the country in which the product is delivered. It is up to the buyer to check with local authorities the possibilities of importing and using the products ordered. Furthermore, the seller cannot be held responsible for damage resulting from improper use of the product purchased and in particular from the use of the knife as a tool.
The seller cannot be held liable in the event of the sale of a knife to a minor. During the sales process the buyer undertakes to accept these general conditions of sale and to be of legal age
- Law applicable in the event of a dispute
The language of this contract is French. These General Terms and Conditions are subject to French law. In the event of a dispute, only the French courts will have jurisdiction.
- Intellectual property
All elements constituting the site (brand, logo, domain names, products, images, videos, texts and more generally all data and information) are and remain the intellectual and exclusive property of the seller. No one is authorized to reproduce, exploit, redistribute, or use for any reason whatsoever, even partially, elements of the site, whether software, visual or sound. Any simple or hypertext link is strictly prohibited without the express written consent of the seller.
No transfer of intellectual property rights is made through these General Terms and Conditions.
- Force majeure
The seller's liability cannot be enforced if the non-execution or delay in the execution of one of its obligations described in these General Terms and Conditions results from a case of force majeure. As such, force majeure means any external, unpredictable and irresistible event within the meaning of the Civil Code.
- Personal data
The seller undertakes to preserve the confidentiality of the information transmitted by the buyer which is necessary for the management of the order.
This information and data is also kept for security purposes, in order to comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
In accordance with the law, the buyer has the right to access, rectify and delete personal information and personal data concerning him. He must express his wish by registered letter to the address of the seller's headquarters.
- Archiving Proof
The company CHARLES CANON SAS will archive purchase orders and invoices on a reliable and durable medium for a period of 10 years, constituting a faithful copy in accordance with the provisions of the article of the Civil Code.
